i think my clutch is going so what now
well i got up today and drove to work my clutch pedal goes almost to the floor before it ingages. i mean prob about 1-2 inches before it hits the floor. i hope it will work its way out but i have a bad feeling it wont. i havnt been racing so i dont know what the deal is. So if im right in guessing my clutch has one foot in the grave what should i do. ive looked at ACT clutchMasters and excedy. all around 300 bucks. will an after market clutch last longer then a stock one. i want something that will last a long time. will the above clutches last as long as stock or longer with the same driving habits? any other good brands? are all these ok? and lastly what will it cost to put one in at a shop? is it something a normal person can do?
ok so clutchmasters is out. i dont plan on running it hard. im very kind to my car compared to most people. but i do get on it once in a while and i autox once on month. i was looking at the stage one ACT i think.
My 2cents... replace it with another stock one. It's much cheaper, and unless you're pushing alot more power than stock will last longer.

they just said with the same driving habits an aftermarket ckutch will last longer. true or not. and will a racing clutch cut down on my times at all? my friend had a racing clutch in his 240 and it lasted forever. the most power i will prob ever have is 160 to the wheels tops
Ok, first, before you go off and buy a new clutch and have it installed... check the fluid level in your clutch master cylinder if your clutch is hydraulic. If the fluid is low, it does exactly that... goes way down to the floor before it starts working...
(Happened to me in my 95 coupe... no fluid in the resevoir, so I topped it off, and it's worked fine ever since)

yeah, check your fluid, and if needed, top it off and bleed it out. Thats probably your only problem, but might as well get a new clutch anyway since you thought about it eh?!?
