mixing paint
Do you always have to mix paint? say if i buy the paint and its the color i already want, do i just put it in the gun and spray? should i add any additives or anything? paint noob haha thanks for ya help
say what?
Yes you do, UNLESS otherwise specified. But i dont know ANY place that sells ready to shoot paint...since thats a pretty dumb idea. If you put straight base into say your HVLP with...ohh...idk a 1.3 tip its going to clog up and just spit **** everywhere. For example I use PPG and Dupont. For Dupont Chromabase you mix the base at a 1:1 ratio. So for a quart of paint, you mix in a qt of basemaker (reducer). For the clear we use its a 4:1 mix. 4 parts of clear to one part of activator.

All the paint suppliers I've dealt with will mix paint for customers, I'm sure they would reduce it if asked. Just call around and ask, btw I'm referring to big auto paint distributors and suppliers not napa type stores.
