Default Recent Break-In

So this happened a few night ago to my brother's Fit. Thursday night (6/14/07) his Ipod was stolen from his car. He forgot it in his cup holder so it was kind of in plain sight. There was no damage to the car.

Other then an alarm and keeping things in plain sight, what are other way to prevent this from happening? An alarm won't stop the theives from grabbing and running. There have been numerous neighbors being victims of theft. Someone actually said his cigarettes were stolen.

I have heard it is possible to peel the window and unlock the doors by pressing on the switch with a coat hanger or something like that. I may disconnect the power door lock switches.

We are pretty new to Fit's so any suggestions are appreciated. Freakin' theives...

This is a pretty universal problem. Anything that works for most other cars could work for us. It's a shame what people will do these days.

Heh, I don't want to resort to a 12 gauge. I just wish theft and vandalism would just stop.
