changing motor mounts
so my motor mounts are pretty bad and im thinking about using the ES inserts, my question is if i do one at a time (cause im really lazy) do i have to put a jack under the oil pan to support the motor and tranny or will the other mounts keep it from crashing to the ground? btw i have a '96 ls 5-speed
it depends which motor mounts your taking off, i take out the front passenger to replace clutch. I just let go of the jack and the motor drops just a little bit.
Youll have to eventually use a jack to get it back in place.
I just installed Prothane motor mounts, with the race insert, it vibrates but not too much to handle. The prothane are also stiffer than the es bushings.
The back one is a pain in the ***, the two sides are easy though.
Leave a jack underneath it just in case.
