Default CRV A/C noise

I have an 07 CRV and noticed today that when I turned off the A/C I am getting a slight banging/popping sound from the engine area. I would guess its the sound of the compressor cutting off, but I am not sure. Is it normal to hear to hear this noise when you turn off the A/C. It may have been doing it all along and I just never noticed it since I usually have the radio on. I just wanted to get your opinion before I tried taking it to the dealer for something thats normal.

Does it sound like it's slams into a gear?

I don't own a CRV, but here is for what it's worth.

Both my "new" Ford and Nissan does this. More so on the Ford, when from a fresh start. I was told that it's nothing wrong. Once the engine warms up, I don't notice it much or if at all. Again, more so on the Ford.

But my Honda does not. The AC is always smooth no matter when I turn it on and under any engine conditions.

Yes it does make a slamming in gear sound. You dont hear it if your moving. Its only if your sitting idle and turn it off that you hear the noise. I am not too concerned about it since the a/c is keeping the car cool. I may just bring it up when I have my oil changed.
