Default What to look for?

I am looking at buying a 98-02 Accord with 75K-100K miles. Wondering if anyone has something specific in mind I should watch for? Anything that always breaks? Recalls? Ive seen a couple ads where the auto trans has been replaced around 100K, are they likely to fail that early? Im wanting a manual anyway.....Any accord specific advice would be greatly appreciated....

5spd in those years are fine

remember that at about 100k there's a big service (timing belt/etc) so keep that in mind with price

The major issue is the auto trans. Mine went at about 50k, some others have had better luck making it to 100k and beyond. Other than that I've never had any issue with my car and I beat the hell out of it for about a year straight.

I'll admit they're a lot prettier, I'm on a tight budget though. If I did take that route, any specifics to look for?
