TOP SPEED!??
just curious, i have a gsr and i was at about 130mph 5800rpms on a nice straight highway...(( one of my jdm window visors blew off! ya i paid 180 shipped)) that sucks but ? being how fast have u had ur teg? spedo goes to 140+ the unmarked area...what u guys think it can do?
130 at 5.8k rpms? Doesn't even seem to be the right RPM for that speed..

wasnt there a post just about a week ago where some guy was whining about totaling his teg at 130 and almost killing his girlfriend? im not gonna tell you not to go that fast, even though im sure you know theres no reason to.
anyway.. yeah i think i heard somewhere around 130 is the max. but it doesnt seem right since gsr's are 80 at 4k rpm you really gain another 50 mph with 1800 rpm?

It isn't right .. At 130 it would be closer to 7k.

It's sad because I rarely come in here anymore, and all I see is lsvtech this and how much hp will this spoon oil cap add, or how fast will i go in the 1/4 with these jdm (insert something here)
I forget how many RPM's = MPH.
But everyones car is different. It depends on your gears, transmission, redline. I redline at 9500, I will almost garuntee that you can not safely take your car that high which would give me a higher top speed than you. However short of being on the autobaun or the BF goodrich test strip we will never know.

a gsr is gear limited at around 164 or so, however, its not possible to go that fast in a straight line due to all the drag thats involved when driving.

On a GS-R with stock gearing and final drive, indicated RPM divided by 50 roughly equals the indicated speed. 4000 rpm in 5th is 80 mph, 5000 is 100 and so on.
The theoretical limit at the 8200 rpm fuel cut would be 164, but as mentioned, the engine does not make enough power to overcome the drag at around 145 or so, indicated.
Who knows what the actual speeds are, though, as the speedometer is likely quite off at those speeds, and of course tire size plays a factor in actual road speed.
