Default dohc zc swap sputtering

i just put a dohc zc in my hatch (which has been converted to mpfi along time now)
it starts and idle great. but when i go to give it gas it falls on its face and then it rev's up. and if i slightly rev it to like 2k and then go to give it full throttle it falls on its face and drops to like 1500 and then revs up fine. i havent driven it yet due to no bitch pin but i cant figure out whats causing this.

Does it only do this when cold? Mine kinda does the same thing when cold and I just havent got around to really investigating it. Someone did recommend that I check valve lash, but I havent done that yet. Writeup on valve adjustment here.

I'm interested in what you find out too.

Your timing belt may be off a tooth. My ZC acted like that when mine was off.
