Why are all the turbo kits out there incompatible with the Prelude SH? What are the reasons and is there anything I can do to make it compatible. Thanks.

 

you got me on this because im not a 5th gen owner. but i would say its because if ATTS.

 

well if you have an SH, after you pass 250whp ATTS disengages. And generally with a good turbo and tune, you would pass that. Besides that I don't see why it would really fit, the only big difference is the oil filter location for the SH's.

 

Its better to build your own kit anyways. I looked at a few of those kits some will fit SH motors others wont. With the ATTS disengaging well if you want a good tune you'll loose that anyway with a ecu mod. I read somewhere you can get a extender for the axle shaft if you want to remove the atts but i think its expensive.

 

Yea, I've heard of the ATTS disabling after 250whp which is why I'm looking to get the Greddy Turbo kit. I know it's only small gains but all I'm looking for is just a little boost, plus it's street legal here in California. I've been pulled over three times already for my fix ups and have gotten away everytime because everything is legal.

Someone once told me that the Greddy turbo kit will work, you just need to find a new oil line for it because of the relocation of the filter.

 

The oil pan is way different too.

 

ATTS doesnt necessarily "disengage" at that power, its just too much power for the unit and it starts to slip.
