CRX wheel/tyre combo for drag racing?
As the title says im looking to kit my 89 shape CRX out with some slicks and wheels. Im looking to put down ~400hp at the wheel and the car is just for straight lining. I am not bothered about the rear wheel/tyres combo just yet.
Will 13's fit over stock sized brakes? If so should I be looking at a 7" or 8" wide wheel? I wanted to avoid 15" wheels if possible as I wanted to keep the ride height as low as possible, and wanted to avoid 14"'s as slicks are rare in that size. If anyone can chime in and give me some pointers that would be great.

Yes the 13's will fit. and are your best choice in diameter..
for 400hp, id suggest an M&H 25x8x13 or a Mickey Thomson 24.5x13x8.. thats pretty much it....

Nice one, thankyou! what width would you recommend for that tyre size? Is there a rough offset I should bear in mind when picking the wheels? Im from the UK so tech knowledge on that particular application is hard to come by

Thanks for your replies, I hear its ok to run an inch either way when it comes to tyre size. Would you suggest a 7 or 8" wide wheel? and if so is it as easy as just matching the tyre width up or should I look to run slightly wider. For example 13 x 7" wheel, and 8" wide tyre?
Cheers

OK so this thread doesnt go to total hell. to the original poster, id suggest a wider wheel... id go with an 8' width.. but thats just me... It makes the most sense to me as far as creating the largest (in this case, width) contact patch on the ground...
