Anyone mount 88 doors on a 90-91 car?
I am sure the door can be mounted but since the belts are on the door 90-91 then I am sure no many people have tried this I know this is proably not a factor to you but I was jsut simpily stating that. They will most likey work I know the glass is f different but that is besides the point.hahaha

I wanted do the same thing on my HF and did some research. ( I just haven't had the time to do all this, since I'm busy taking my S2000 on the track!) I stripped the interior of the car and notice there are cutouts where the '88 seatbelt mechanism mounts on the passenger side. but on the driver's side is missing the threaded part where seat belt hang and also missing the threaded part for the bracket at the lower side near the door. But those can be welded in. At least I think the passennger side will work with 88' seatbelt component. and just unbolt the two mechanisms (yes! two?? which were twice as much weight!) on each door and junk them! Yes! That means you'll have to go the the junk yard and get the '88 seat belt components and try to mount in your car.
Strip your inerior and check it out! (but don't purchase the '88 seat belt until you are sure. let me know if it works?)You can alway put them back!
Or you can just remove the door seatbelt mechanism all together! I think that's what I'll do when I install the rollcage and just use the racing harness!

I know that you can't put 90-91 doors on an 88, but I think you should be able to put 88 doors on a 90-91. You have to be sure to remove the bracket on the top of the "B" pillar and on the rocker for the door to work. The doors are the same size, mount on the same hinges and the lock mechanism is the same. The "B" pillar is different on the cars though due to the seatbelt thing. This is why 90-91 doors won't work on an 88. In addition, if your car isn't gutted, you'll also need the interior door panel from an 88. The panel clips go in in different places. This'd be awesome with racing seats and harnesses. Forget the factory seatbelts all together.
