Default Pep Boys/Autozone - clutch master cylinder & slave cylinder

Has anyone bought a clutch master cylinder & slave cylinder at Autozone or Pep Boys.

Im on a budget and I cant afford the Acura dealer price. Dealer price for slave cylinder is $80 & CMC is $120 + tax.

thanx.

Ive bought a slave cylinder from autozone, i think. It may have been o'reillys, which is almost the same, but jsut a little cheaper and its worked fine.

The master should be fine as long as its a factory repalcement part.

Some of factory replacements actually come with a warranty, so I say go for it.

Go for it. I got my CMC at Checker's, and it was actually brand new and made by Nissin (OEM brand/model). I don't think they even bother rebuilding CMCs.

If you're really broke, it might be possible to rebuild the CMC yourself; I'm sure the problem is just worn seals. If you can find someplace that will sell you seals of the correct size, that's all you need.

I'm pretty sure Autozone and other stores sell theirs for cheaper, plus you don't have to pay (and wait) for shipping. And as I said before, the one at your local store may very well be a brand new OEM model; that's what I got at Checker for less than the $98 this one costs. Ask them if it's refurb. or brand-new.
