Ive heard from a diffrent form that i am suposed to use a 2000 Civic SI cap and rotor for my dizzy but im trying to find out y cant i just use another cap n rotor from auto zone or something? I have it swaped in my 96 honda accord and im about due for a tune up

 

I have a JDM H22A with internal coil, and the 2000 Civic si cap and rotor do work as replacements. And you can get them from auto zone if you wish, I went to advance auto.

Is your car OBD2 or OBD 1? If your OBD 1 just get a 92-96 Prelude Si cap and rotor. If your OBD 2 just get a newer Prelude cap and rotor.

wouldn't he run into issues with the usdm Prelude dizzy caps because of the external coil on them, since he said he's using a jdm h22a with a internal coil??

 

I just looked up part #'s for 2000 civic si and 95 prelude si and prelude VTEC and #'s are different. Maybe a civic si will work but is it actually the rite cap and rotor for a H22A?

 

i got the msd kit for my accord from jegs a year ago and it was from a civic and my dist. lasted 2 days and went out so i wouldnt do it just what happend to me

 

That doesn't help us out much cause the F22A and the H22A cap and rotor aint the same. I tried a internal coil 93 F22A? cap and rotor on my H22A and it wouldn't even start, And yes the cap and rotor was good.

 

Here's a question for u, did the cap and rotor u bought for the 2000 civic SI last a long time without any problems?

 

To clarify, I have an OBD1 JDM H22A with internal coil. Almost 1 year ago I purchased a 2000 Civic Si Distributor cap and rotor and they have worked fine for me thus far. Hope this helps.

 

yup i purchased the 2000 civic si cap n rotor n the internal coil and it works fine the cap was a lil but tight but i just shaved the trim off just a hair but other wise works fine
