Good afternoon,
I have a 90 CRX DX with an Auto trans. The car runs great except ONE BIG THING. I live in Arizona the HOTT *** HELL STATE and my CRX tends to get hot or overheat when ever i drive more then 30 minutes in 100 degree sun. The engine runs good but the transmission stops switchin gears when its hot and only revs and goes top 15mph.
Incident happened today where i drove for 30 mins in 90 degree weather and on the way home it stopped switchin gears and rev so i pulled over into a parkin lot with a outdoor covers. And i pulled into the parkin spot and waited for approximately an hour for my car to cool off and then drove home perfectly fine like it never happened.

Any body have any ideas on what i should do and i know that gettin a new Trans is one of them but gotta figure out something else before i get that.

Check your tranny fluid. If it is anything like a accord there are three selonoids on the front of the transmission. When they go bad it doesn't shift right. Have you tried shifting manually to see if that helps?

 

I have tried shifting manually and does not do anythin. And there is tranny fluid but just unsure why it wont shift only when its hot.

 

It could be the selonoids I am talking about, the at computer or the torque converter.

 

Thanks a bunch for takin the time i will check that out asap i was thinkin that it could be the at cpu also but will check selenoids also
