I have been a lover of Civics since my first 96 Civic ex back when i was 16. Unfortunately that car was t-boned and since then i have purchased a 2000 Civic Si.



Recently one of my friends was riding for the first time in my car and he commented on how loud the exhaust was in the cabin. Being that he is a VW fanatic along with most of my friends i just took this as a sign of two different designs. But the damage has been done and now im constantly listening to my engine while driving trying to determine if something is wrong.

The exhaust becomes really loud when im in a gear that is to high for the given speed or condition, like going up a steep hill in 5th gear or something. To give an example of just how loud it is, If im on the phone when this happens i can no longer hear what the person is saying on the other line.

When i purchased the car i had my friends come with me to check it over for aftermarket parts, i rather not have some kids mistakes, and found that the car was still stock.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues to this?
Am I just going crazy or is this decibel level normal?

HAHA yea My stock GSR motor is a ton louder than my d16z6. I mean WAY louder.
