Race car Brake Judder
I recently built a 5th gen 2.2vti race car which once out on the track quickly developed bad brake judder at the front .One guy tells me I need big brakes another says I need Polyurethane bushes, rose joints etc.Anyone got any ideas Before I spend a fortune on some Brembos.Currently it runs JIC coil overs, uprated pads and hoses everything else is standard.
how is it a race car if you dont have better brakes?
anyway... if judder means shakes. then u could have warped rotors.
if thats the case, replace those and get new pads.
whats your current set up for your "race car"?

Im in the Uk so perhaps we do have different terms. The car was built for endurance racing in Europe and competed in the Nurburgring 24 hour race it has FIA safety equipment but is fairly standard otherwise.I thought maybe someone else may have suffered the same problem. The chances are I will have to bite the bullet and get some big brakes.

Have you checked the condition of the wheel bearings and CV joints?
I do plenty of track events on my Prelude with stock brakes, and I've had zero problems. A friend races his Prelude in Honda Challenge and SCCA IT with stock calipers, and he's had no problems either.
So stock brakes aren't your problem. There's something else wrong.
HenryTypeS, many race classes in SCCA and NASA require OEM brake calipers, so there are many, many race cars with stock brake systems.

I will get them checked as Im about to get the shocks rebuilt, its good to know the standard brakes are up to the job I couldnt see any reason why they wouldnt be.What body kit have you got on your car it looks good? and yes there was 4 drivers in the 24 hour race.
doing 2 hour stints.117 what engine management are you running?

204WHP SAE corrected (212WHP uncorrected) on a relatively stock engine: stock cams, pistons, rods, crank, IM, injectors, etc. The only "real" aftermarket parts are an SMSP header, fairly open exhaust, AEM CAI, and Euro R TB.
I don't recall the torque numbers exactly, but it was right at or just under 160 ft*lbs.
