Default Trying to get good imaging is driving me crazy!!

I have aftermarket woofer and tweeters in the stock locations. It's so frustrating trying to aim them for best front imaging and soundstaging since I have to pull the door panels off everytime ai want to adjust and check. So in general, what's a good rule of thumb to start with in an Integra using stock locations? Point both at the driver's ears? Point at the enter of the car? What do you guys do?

I would think aiming toward the center of the vehicle would be a good place to start for good overall system imaging. If you have the ability to time-delay the signal then you could use this to create the feeling that the music is centered around the driver.

I personally am using 99-00 Si tweeter pods in my 93 Si hatch. The driver side tweeter aims pretty much in line with my ears and I can't tell you how hard it is to tune for accuracy and not make the sound very harsh and tinny.

I have heard some good systems that actually employ the tweeter's sounds to be reflected off of adjacent objects. If done right I think it provides good spaciousness and drastically lessens the acoustical harshness of some tweeters at high volume levels.

I know you are using the stock ocations but for the best imaging you should go with some kick panels with the tweeters mounted in them. the closer the speakers gets to the gound, the more equal the distance between the left and right speakers becomes.

a very good starting point is to aim the tweets at your rear view mirror. Then make adjustments from there.
