Driving on the 405....car begins to sputter and hesitate....so exit to local streets...finally car shuts down. Pull over...and won't start back up. Open the hood...one plug off the distributor has come off. Just as chance has it...some dude who is a mechanic stops by. He pulls a plug wire out and grounds it with a screw driver and concluded that my distributor is gone. I'm hoping there was no damage to my motor. What are the chances?? During finals week!!! AHH!! And my helms is being delivered today!!

If he's right about the distributor going bad, then there shouldn't be any damage to your motor at all. You'll just need to replace the distrib.
