Default Quick!!! Is anyone familiar with this AEM cam gear????

Is anyone familiar with the AEM cam gear part #23-605?? It is a discontinued cam gear that fits the Civic 01-05, but it is a 3 bolt cam gear. AEM's new model is a 5-bolt cam gear. I called AEM and they said there is no perfomance difference, the 5-bolt is just for looks. Is anyone familiar with the 3-bolt cam gear??

How much of a difference would a cam gear make on an 04 EX coupe MT w/ the usual intake, headers, downpipe, exhaust??

Also, there is a plastic cover over the cam gear on my vehicle. Can that cover be removed and driven safely without it for looks purposes??

Thanks guys.

it is really going to be a waste of money just after all those ull spend about a good one grand to 1500 so just save up for a swap or turbo those are the best choice....

A cam gear alone won't get you anything for hp/tq numbers. Even after tuning, you'll be lucky to see 3whp. If you want to really start playing with your d17, get a new cam first.

The 3 bolt gear is notorious for slipping, which is why they released the 5 bolt gear.
Its a waste of money with a single cam, since you cant phase the valveoverlap, you just move it around. It might net you .000000001 HP

The cam shaft by crower, is that the only one for the D17A2?
