Default tuning questions

I have a 1998 Honda Accord (4-cylinder w/ VTEC) and I'm thinking about getting a new air intake system and exhaust system. Any suggestions? I'm new to all this and I would appreciate any help.

i would try and find a NAME BRAND cold air kit off of ebay, INJEN, AEM, and FuJIta are all good kits, i bought my AEM kit NIB for 225 with shipping, which retail is like 300 or so,

Exhaust wise, i would go to a muffler shop and have them put on 2.25 piping from the cat back, and by a nice muffler.

i personally am not a fan of a lot of the cat back systems out there, i think they all sound really ricey. like the apexi kit, and greddy sound really bad to me, but Magnaflow makes excellent kits, you could buy a catback from magnaflow, but i would be real pricey like 5 or 600 dollars. Better of buying the muffler and have the 2.25 piping put on, which is what the cat-back will come with.

But then again thats just my opinion, it is ur car

alright dude personally i hate that idea of bring to a place have retard expletive up welds and you loose that nice mid range output if anything apexi ws2 is the best little noise silent see . The point of it is when exhaust gases enter out through the muffler an sloopy weld does'nt release as quick. some might say oww thats retarded but test porven you can't see it till you slow down and see inside or you could put 21/2 inch pipe the apexi n1 just make sure welds are decent grat raspy sound from that non ricer that is.

I would recommend some name brand intakes. They just work better and it will fit and function properly. I got my intake for my 96 Accord EX coupe (4cyl) for $50!!!!!! AEM CAI. Very nice. Injen, AEM, K&N, Weapon-R (looks ricey, but heard good reviews)

Flowmaster on 4 cyls. are a big

Check out weapon-r for intakes, secret weapon if you have the money. Megan racing for cat-back exhaust systems. Anything really with a resonator wont give off the buzzy ricey sound. I have not heard one bad thing about my exhaust from other people.
