Default All motor GSR build. Stock vs Aftermarket Retainers, Stock vs Bronze Valveguides?

GSR build from the top down. All aftermarket head components from supertech, but hear bad bad things about titanium retainers and want something a wee bit stronger. What do you suggest? I know supertech came out with new retainers, and I beleive crower has stainless ones too. Voice your opinion

Also, running bronze valveguides vs stock oem's? Any benefit or dis-benefit in a motor that wont be pushing over 240whp?

I wanted the supertech aluminum retainers but they didn't have any when I bought mine so I got ti retainers.
You shouldn't have any problems.

make sure you get the new guides reamed.

I have heard more good things with supertech than bad that is why I went with them.

Yea, how about the bronze valve guides, useless? I am most likely going to stick with OEM honda

i think OEM valve guides should be fine...for me im going with Ferrea EX and IN valves guides for my K series, kinda pricey tho..as for retainers, you should talk to Jeff at Import Builders about his valve train components he sells, they are really good

bronze valve guides and Crower chromoly retainers FTW. I had bad feeling about the titanium ones also and have only heard good things about the chromoly ones.

I liked the chromoly ones as well but couldn't find the ones I really wanted. So I went with titanium.

I would go with bronze valve guides in a second with no hesitation. OEM's are never a bad move either though. Depends if you want oem reliability or more of a race motor.

Either guides you get will depend on who installs them and if done correctly and measured/reamed after.

The guy doing my machine work is very reliable, so I will be going with OEM as its not a race bred motor. Most likely going with the Crower chromoly ones also. Anyone have the exact part number for them that they used? Thank you in advance, and thank you everyone for replies

Running Ferrea Titanium retainers (with Ferrea Springs) for 20,000 miles with no problems. Car was even daily driven for 10,000 of those miles.

i have REV ss valves, dual springs and titanium retainers. i was told that the factory honda valve guides over time go bad with SS valves. Im not a 100% but i have bronze guides on my b16 head. and i have zero problems.
