Default Blow torch to the crank pulley bolt and then water, block bad now ?

alright guys, dont ask and dont bother flaming. Just out of curiosity, i was wondering if i would be able to use this ls block of mine. Make a long story short, me and my buddy needed to get the crank pulley off of this ls block. So we come up with this brilliant idea (years ago, the blocks just been sitting, havent used it since) to heat up the pulley and then spray with water lol, again.. no flaming lol. I know better now but that is not the point. The point is, is the block bad or does it see worse temps anyway when you drive it hard.. i dont know? I always fegured just to pick up another ls block from a junk yard rather than risk putting a bunch of money into this block that may fail one day. Part of me thinks im totally wrong and the temps didnt reach a level where it would make a difference to the blocks integrity. ? ?

naah, just heat the bolt head, I dont see what you're trying to accomplish with the water. Just heat it till its getting red then turn it out.
However do remember, the seals near the crank will melt. so, thats a problem.

I wouldn't worry about it. Check the oil pump seal to make sure it didn't melt.

i've never had to heat a crank pulley bolt, and i've done a ton.

But to answer your question, the seals and cover might be toast, besides that your fine.

i appreciate the responses guys! thanks! i was crossing my fingers that nothing would be wrong with the block itself, so looks like i can go ahead and rebuild it with everything new of course
