i have a b18c type R motor that has been hydrolocked...
the motor and transmission has roughly 70k miles.
has..
skunk2 stage2 cams
titanium valve springs/retainers..

i took the motor out of the car and sold the shell...

Question is how much is this motor worth? part it out or sell as is?

well it depends on the head. if you bent valves and all that in the head it has to be rebuilt so it isnt worth a whole lot. same with the rods...if they got bent from the compression change from the water ther arent worth anything either. I guess all you can do it take stuff apart and see how bad it is. for the long block i wouldnt say more than $700 for what could be the worst with the head and block. good for a hi comp NA rebuild tho.

i guess im gonna be better off parting out the tranny and sell little parts off the motor...

naw no rebuild for me. i just bought a s2000.

 

sell me your lost motion assembly out of the head.... ^_^

 

During a hydro-lock, odds are the head is fine, but the rods and pistons could of been damaged. If it was knocking, then one or more rods are bent more than likely.
