Anyone know if this is good enough for my 97R all year round?

I use a PC-680 but I keep it on an Odyssey trickle charger because I don't drive it daily.

I use a 680 and it works fine no probs at all even not starting the car over a month in the winter. GA winter not as cold as IL winter tho.

Also 680 can be had for ~$100. Thats a good bit cheaper than your link.

it's all based on temperatures. In chicago we get colder days so...

It was the battery, so I know he has one for sale.

I live in Chicago and I'm using the PC925T in my other car. If you need the car to start on even our coldest days - our record low here is -27F and in half of our winters it gets down to -10F or colder - then you need to err on the side of a bigger battery.

I've found the lowest prices on Odyssey batteries at Portable Power Systems, where I bought my last one. Nice folks, and knowledgeable.

Get the model with the T at the end of the model number; that means it comes with the terminal posts. Models with MJ at the end of the model number (like the link above) mean that the battery is encased in a metal jacket; this is primarily for protection in cars where the battery is next to a source of heat (e.g. the exhaust manifold).

hate to revive an old thread, but will the 680 be enough if you have other amenities in the car such as a 500 watt sub amp and after market stereo?

Not to be a smart a$$, but if you have a 500 watt amp, sub, etc, why are you worried about saving 10lbs on a battery?

I'm not at all concerned about weight. I am doing it more for cleanliness in the engine bay. I'm going to be doing a wire/brake line tuck and relocate the battery to underneath the dash. I also think it's somewhat of a good security measure. Thieves pop hoods to get into the engine bay for the battery, and it might throw them off when they don't see it and have to look for it (while the alarms going off). Then they gotta figure its probably in the trunk and they have to spend more time to flex the window to unlock the door and pop the trunk. When its not in the trunk they will probably get frustrated from having the alarm go off for so long that they hopefully just leave.

I duno. maybe i think too deeply =P Then again, I live in Seattle. One of the top 10 cities for car theft, and thieves out here are savage. I know people that have had their car stolen out of their garage WHILE they were home with the garage closed.
