wheel spacers
quick question guys. i had a 98 hx b4 i bought this 98 ex. i saved the hx wheels and when i attempted to put them on, the front calipers scraped the wheels. so now odviously i no they cant fit on cuz the ex brakes are too big but isnt ther wheels spacers or suthing i can put on the front wheels so i can fit them on the front just enough space in between to clear the caliper so the wheel can rotate normally? any feedbak is appreciated
any specific size u recommend? or sizes they offer? cuz i wanna just clear the caliper but not make it odvious that the wheel comes out farther than usual. not greatly odvious anyway. and can i jus buy them at an auto store like advance auto or auto zone?
you need a ~5 mm spacer. i personally have never seen them in autozone, etc. but i ordered some on ebay to fit miata wheels on my ex. they cost me about 12 bucks and work perfectly

Isn't there also the danger that spacers will split your studs under harsh conditions? Just throwing it out there, I've always heard horror stories about those things.

I've Had a set of HX's on my DB8 and 7mm spacer on all four. But one thing I noticed about the spacers was the vibration. The wheels came off an EK and drove perfect w/ no vibrations. My car never had any probs. until I put on the spacer. So you guys got me there.....I dont know what to tell ya.
I just ended up tossing the spacer and selling the wheels. I replaced it with a set of rare 15 inch Sparco NS II's (white w/ anodized blue lip) and H & R HubCentric 15mm spacers. I think even this is a bit much. now my tires rub everywhere I drive.

Never heard of that before. I been running spacers for over a year know. No problem whats so ever. The car had been used in HPDE, autox and daily drive.

I had hx wheels on my 95 eg 4 door ex. The reason they dont fit is cause the si/ex brakes are about the same size as integra ls brakes. You need to either shave the caliper bracket down a bit or get wheel spacers. I wouldnt even bother with these wheels. The spacers will cause ur car to vibrate like crazy. The spacers have to be hub centric.

I thought he was talking about the inner circumfrence of the wheel not having any room
and asking if the wheel spacers would help, you don't have to be a bitch about it.

Huh. I guess it only applies when people just don't install them properly.
The vibration mentioned earlier I would probably think was due to the fact that some spacers don't have tight fitting holes for the studs, but instead have slightly oblong slots (reason?). I'd think this would cause the spacer to be installed slightly off-center, and it's imbalance would cause the vibration. I'm only speculating here from products I've seen though. My .02

I have seen that before with the spacers bouncing around

The Eibach spacers don't have oblong holes, and they come mated appropriately to the lug size and the centerbore of the vehicle. Plus, they come with extended studs so you don't have to worry about stressing your stock ones.

yeah, I agree, the 5mm spacers I had were some cheap crappy brand and was by far a horrible fit. It didnt have a snug fit. The holes were oblong and were fitted for 4x100 and 4x114. It does matter on how people install it but it is also in question if the quality of the spacer is in top notch.
