When it hits the rev limiter.

If I was you, and I was really serious about learning the answer to your question, I think I'd look at one, or two, or even several of the eleventy-billion dyno charts on here.

try redline champ..somtimes i go to like 8300 cause i drive like i have a sack..

i know what ur saying about the power think after a certain rpm but our motors were designed for high rpm so id assume the higher you shift the quicker you move and they closer to v tec you will be in the next gear..hope that helps

ya i hope that was a joke... the kid is pretty much asking where the best rpm to shift at since he is obviously to lazy to do a search on the 20 other "how do i drive my car" posts. if you are stock then don't even look at a dyno to see when your peak power is. all you need to think about is keeping your car in vtak the whole time... so since you got an 02 you need to shift at 8,100-8,200 rpm. go try it and you will feed the difference

What u gotta do is tach it out in 3rd gear around 85mph and then instead of upshifting to fourth, down shift into 2nd. You get a boost power. Sort of feels like nitrous.

i would like to see a vid of you putting your car into second at 85. unless you don't own a Type-s. if you told me to drop it at 45 then that makes sence... but 85? dont think so bud.

ok, my semistock ep3 redlines at 7200-7300...
3rd gear hits rev limiter at 85MPH...

a more subtle (Yet FUN!) way to go is this :
say someone's going 60mph in front of you,
when going to pass, rev up to around 5-6K RPM, then downshift to 3rd.. and take off around him!
you can zip around quicker than dropping into 4th and waiting for more power from a stock engine...

but thats just how i drive, fast n furious!
practice with no-one around first, i am a trained profesional circus clown daredevil...
(yeah, i went to Clown College)
