i have a bad o2 sensor so im not sure if that would cause this noise. but at first i had a small exhaust leak from my header but i looked all around and cant find any. it sounds like its coming from the intake but it hasnt ever been that loud before. it started doing it as soon as the o2 sensor went out. so im guessing its that... but if any of yall have encountered this before then fill me in.

 

What does it sound like? When does it make the noise?

 

Some exhausts do get louder after they "wear in"

 

it makes tha nois at higher rpm when i get on it or at mid rpms ... prettymuch just whenever i get on it. it aint my exhaust when i had my **** on the lift there were no leaks and at the muffeler it still sounds good/normal. but under the hood if you put your ear to the intake its loud as hell sounds like the intakes the exhaust.

 

I think you might be hearing the sound of an aftermarket intake. Is it like a deep throaty sound and you only hear it when your at WOT or close to WOT?

 

yea i thought so to but the intake has been on there since i got the car and its just now starting to be that loud. i have had it for 8 months

 

its called VTEC!!!!! just kidding........haha
