Anyone know what is wrong??
A couple of days ago I raced a someone on the way to school, while I was racing him I noticed that my tech was twitching. It kinda looked like when you had your engine reved up, and turned the engine off. But in my case it didn't go all the way down, it only went like 2 or 3 thousand under what I was at but then came up. After a while when I was going like 70mph or something my engine did die on me. Took a couple of trys to get it started, also when I tried to start it nothing happened, it kinda seemed like my battery was dead, but it was not. Anyway when I did get it started my tech twitched like mad, after I drove it for awhile it seemed to go away, but every now and then my tech would be twitching like mad.
Sorry for this being so long, if anyone has a clue please help.

****....someone will need a distributor soon. Another honda distributor bites the dust. Most probabally the ignitor failure making your tach jump like that. IF you are lucky you might only be in need of a coil, buy chances are.........another one bites the dust.
that exact situation happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Car just died at like 50 mph in 4th gear..
i went to my local mechnaic, and he like tightened some **** with my distributor and its been running fine since. so check your distributor, or get it checked out

Yeah, racing on the street is what did it........ anyways, most likely it's your distributor. You should pull the cap off and make sure the rotor didn't lose it's mounting screw. But from what you've said, I think you're going to need at least a new ignitor, possibly a whole new distributor. That sucks, happened to me a few times, it's the weak link on Honda motors. Not sure what distributor you're using, but keep in mind that if you have a B16 or B18b or c set up, your can use an ignitor from a different motor, like a single cam, or vice versa, just have to change the mounting bracket on some, good luck

I had the same problem on my teg. I adjusted the timing and forgot to tighten the distributor bolts. If you have ever pulled out your gauge cluster, then the tach wire could be loose as well. New distributor time may be near also.
