EP Performance Help
I am new to the EP3 Just got the car just over a week ago. Car has a very nice set up. Tein Basic Coil Overs, AEM V-2 intake and Apex World Exhaust. I was looking into some extra suspension mods and increase engin performance. As for the engine performance I would like to stay carb legal and N/A I live in SoCal. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in Advance for the help.
swap the A3 motor for an A2, if you dont want to go that way you could try a jackson racing supercharger street kit, but from what i have heard about the streek kit is that it only disappoints. good luck
unfortunately the A3 is very hard to make N/A fast stock unless you start building it. You could always build it but that's another route or you could engine swap with a k20A2 or k20A
I was looking for bolt on stuff that would rise the enjoyment a little. Im not out to take any one down just some proven CARB legal bolt on stuff along with some extra suspension so that Canyon carving can be more fun. Engine swaps I wasnt thinking about as my 03 EP3 only has 50,000 miles.
this is only my opinion but i'm not to fond of greddy kits as they usually give you small turbos. I'd say put together a turbo kit it would be cheaper.

Turbo can be legal?

yes.. it is very legal. Why do you think they sell them in already turbo'd cars? ex.. dodge neon srt-4, dodge stealth, mitsubishi vr4, lancer evo VIII, Acura RDX and many more. besides they are fuel efficient if you don't get on them.
Turbo'd cars are relatively old.

Because it's stock... I was told they are illegal because certain cars are not meant to go so fast. (Ahem, civics.) Torque steer and stability/traction loss come to mind. Anyways, can you prove them legal? I really hope my EP3 is legal after boost.

the way you prove them legal is emissions. If your car passes emissions and DoT of that state then your car is legal. Turbo is not illegal at all, if it was they wouldn't be selling them over the counter.

All CARB legal really means is it passes smog emissions (for Cali) and what not. I'm not sure there is a "CARB" legal turbo kit as you would say.

No, just cuz it doesn't have a CARB stamp doesn't mean it's not legal. To be honest.. anything that modifies the performance of your car and increases your exhaust is really what it boils down to. If your car can stay in the legal standards of emissions for whatever state then it is as you would say "CARB legal"
