Default 2000 Hatch, 120k, 2500 bucks?

My moms friend is selling a 2000 Hatch, 5 speed, DD car, not beaten on, as if an old man bought it and drove it..

car is black, body and interior are mint, car runs good and seems to have been well taken care of, think its worth 2500?

, you know a hatch like that hasn't been beaten and kept in mint condition. Def. buy it bro. Im sure with a good detail, the orig. paint should shine like new.

Ok i took a look at it, drove it, he wants 3000 Actually, No rust, Oil changed every 3k, very clean nice car

Interior was mint also, besides like one ciggarette burn on the carpet, Car ran and drive very nicley, except it sounded like it need both cvs, he showed me wehre the spare tire was and there was all water in there, he said he thouht it was leaking from the hatch molding, but nothing else seemed to be wet in the back carpet area

Transmission shifted smooth, no grinds or anything, yet again i didnt do any high rpm shifts, other than that the car was in great shape

also, the car hasnt had any real maintenace besides oil changes in a while, he dosnt know if the timing belt was done, dosnt remember the last time it had a tune up

So ill see what i can do, tell him that both axles are gonna cost like $120 bucks, the molding probably about $80 (thats how much it was for my transam so im just assuming) .. a tune up, tranny fluid change, timing belt and water pump

the likely cause of the water is usually the tailight gasket. you can make your own with crafting foam from wal mart for about $.60

thats a hell of a deal for a 00 hatch in good shape! buy it up

First: Why would one go from a Trans Am to a Civic?

Second: Buy that sh*t ASAP!

If you remove the taillights from a 6G hatch you can see straight to the ground. When the car is driving in the rain or snow, the water and slush gets tossed right up to underneath the taillights. So it probably weakens the gaskets.

most people here would take that car i have one and got mine in nearly mint condition with 70,000miles for like 5k and its a 98 just to give you an idea, but deff beat on it before you buy it. that way if anything breaks your just like no thanks and do a compression test.
