Default Tranny situation..

A good friend of mine, whose helped me attain many jdm parts etc, can get me a good deal on a gsr longblock, rather then the entire swap due to funds I hold specifically on the side for my Honda. Pretty much it will be the gsr long block with my current LS tranny (stock), till I can get more funds and swap in a b16 tranny later. I know its been done before, but where does the RPM end on the ls tranny? I was thinking the max would be around 7200K +/-. tia!

fixed.

Where do the gears end? I'm having trouble understanding your question. The tranny doesn't "max out" at a certain rpm its the motor that would max out.

Yes, on the transmission. So the LS tranny won't rev out, regardless of b-series motor its mated to?

No the transmisson doesn't max out. Your motor will blow before the transmission maxs out.

I see, my trail of thought was that since the LS motor itself had a redline of 7K+ rpm the tranny would have the same thing too, but I guess not. And since the gsr motor has a redline of 82k, I was thinking the LS tranny wouldn't be able to accomodate the full rpm range that the motor itself can reach to, since the LS tranny was originally designed for the LS motor.
