Default illuminas

I have a dc and I want to know what people think about the tokico illuminas and eibach sport line or pro. This is my DD so I want a stiff ride but not too stiff so its confortable at the same time..

I have the same setup on my crx and i love it i don't know how it carries over on your car but alot of people enjoy this setup. its low enough for looks and comfortable enough for a DD. IMO

I have the Pro-Kit and Illuminas on my EJ8 and love it. Nice drop, nice ride, not stiff or jarring. I have the shocks set at 3 front and rear and haven't yet decided how I might want to adjust them further. Based on the feel right now, I think the Sportlines would have been too much for my DD.

I'm running Eibach Sportlines and Tokico Illuminas on my '94 Civic hatchback...it dropped it a good 2" and isn't ridiculously low (although that seems to be the trend nowadays). It rides stiff...not "oh my God I need to **** blood" stiff, but you can tell it has an aftermarket suspension on it...but after a while you get used to it.

Overall, I'd give it a 9/10...stiff, but comfortable with a good drop

Before

After

Obviously, stiffness/harshness is a personal preference. How much you like (or can take) depends on the person. I have not experienced the feel of Sportlines but because I am liking the Pro-Kits I think Sportlines would have been too much of a stiff ride for my taste. They also would have been problematic for my wheels - as it was, the 1.5" drop gave me interference and I had to roll the fenders. I am running 16x7 wheels with slightly smaller overall diameter from stock and a +40mm offset. I think Sportlines would have required me to get camber kits to increase the negative camber to clear the rolled fenders.

JKov240's description also gives me reason to think that for my tastes in a DD that the "stiff ride" of Sportlines would have been too stiff. What I think is interesting is that my drop with the Pro-Kits looks pretty close to his visually.

There's supposedly a .2" difference between the Pro-Kit and the Sportlines...I had a biiiiig wheel gap so I knew that the .2" would make a difference.

sportline will void your warranty on your illuminas, not only will it void them but it will take probably a month or so to blow your illuminas and then its really going to ride like crap. IMO go with the sportlines its a clean drop and rides nice and they will not void the warranty on the illuminas

^How do you figure that it voids the warranty? The warranty states that the warranty will become void if installed on "extemely lowered vehicles"...I don't know what their definition of extremely lowered is, but I wouldn't think that 2" is extreme.

And it doesn't ride like crap...it's stiff, but it doesn't ride like crap.

I know my last set of illuminas were covered on my 2.5" H&R race drop.

The left rear blew, sent it in and got a new/refurbished one.
