I just want the tokico hp shocks with tein s-tech lowering springs. would that be a great combo for lowering civic coupe ex???

depends on how low you want to go.... Get an aligment after you drop your car... expect to see some camber wear along the way

Also when you lowered the car, you will change the toe too, the toe is what make the tire have uneven wear the most. well you dont need them right away- ive had my car lowered about 2" all around, i have 2.5 neg camber in the front and 1.9 in the rear. the only thing it does is waer your tires faster. camber makes your tires sit an an angle to the road, you use the camber kit to make them sit flat against the road.

its going to be a very good idea in the mid - long run to get a camber kit

 

I am running the stechs on my 97 coupe. I dont have a camber kit and the alignment fell just short but acceptable of factory spec. Toe will need adjustment. I dont notice any camber wear on the oe 185/65 tires and the car is my daily driver. Actual drop from those springs came to 1.5 front and 1.7 rear.

Measure fender height at stock height and same point after spring install and again like a month later as springs settle.

Camber kit won't be necessary for the front or rear IMO.

The rear camber can be fixed enough to not matter with a few washers. The front camber won't be bad enough to need fixing unless you're dropped more than ~3".

Camber kit Shmamber kit.

The key in any 2.5" or less drop is setting the toe to factory spec and adding a few washers to the rear uca's. It's safe and a lot cheaper than the ingall kit. Which is just fancy bolts and washers.

 

Yes it is fine. Those springs don't drop that much anyways. I've been on Ground Controls for over 2 years dropped 2.5-3", no camber kit (although I did the washer shim in the rear) and my car drives fine with no uneven tire wear to speak of. All you gotta do to maximize your tire life is get an alignment done and get the toe set as close to factory spec as possibe.

expletive a camber kit...just get camber fluid instead of brake fluid and run that. its like viagra for cambered wheels, straightens them right out.

sure its okay to lower your car with a camber kit, but is it OKAY to wear your tires fast?
