2000 accord v6 with 120000 miles. I notice a high-pitch whine/rattle at low acceleration. It happens when in drive and neutral. Seems like a certain throttle position triggers it - if I'm going 30 mph, and barely have foot on accelerator, I hear the noise. If I gun it, no noise (could be the engine noise drowns it out I guess).

Noise seems to decrease as car warms up. Any ideas?

 

Didn't realize alternator would make noise - is that common?
