Default Need help w/rust

Okay, well my car has been a Cali/Az car as far as I know...but on the metal piece that runs right behind the front lip (is this called the front crossmember?) there is some light rust, looks like someone went into a driveway a little too fast a while ago, and it's got some surface rust.

What's the best way to take care of this before it gets out of hand? I had someone say something about rust converter but I don't know anything about it...i.e., where to get it, how it goes on, if it works well, etc.

Sorry for the wordy post, but thanks in advance!!

Alex

use light grit wet sand paper, remove rust, then buy this coating stuff at auto zone or pep boys for the underside of you car, and spray it all around bottom of car if you want, will help prevent rust. yeah like he said it's a undercoating

You should get some sandpaper and sand the spot down until the rust is gone.
Then primer it, paint it, and spray it with undercoat.
