Default Looking for tire suggestions for daily driver 175/70/13 or other 13" sizes

I'm looking for a set of tires for a stock daily driver 93 Civic coupe. I read the other threads and Kumho ASX seemed to be the recommended all-season tires but I can't find any offerings below 15". I'm not looking to put a lot of money into this car so the tires will be going on the current plain old 13" steelies. I currently daily drive the car in the city but will be changing jobs and the new job will require a lot of long-distance freeway travel. I'm mostly looking for safety and treadlife but since I'll be in the car a lot, I'll consider modest price increases to accommodate comfort. Also, I need the tires soon, as in today or within the next few days, so I'd prefer tires available at local tire shops like Discount Tire or Sears Auto rather than buying from Tire Rack or other online vendor. All suggestions welcome, TIA.

Forgot to mention that I am 65-70% certain that I'll be buying another set of wheels for dedicated winter tires just in case this affects the recommendation.

If memory serves me correctly the only decent 13" all season tire that will fit your application is the Yoko Avid T4. Maybe someone else can chime and and confirm this.

The only summer tire I can think of that comes in 13" is to Sumitomo HR200. The advantage of this tire is it is cheap ($37 at tire rack in the size you wanted)

13" tires are getting more and more sparse these days, you are almost better off getting some used steel rims in 14" or even better, 15" and get some real options in selection.

OMN's advice is good, as usual.

You might want to consider using your current 13" wheels for those winter tires (several good winter tires are available in 175/70-13), and then get 15" wheels for spring/summer/fall, since there are lots of good summer tires and all-season tires available in 15" sizes.
