door handle need hlp asap not a honda though but please help
Hey guys my girl has a cobalt LT 2door. last night the passenger side door handle broke off the outside. has anyone ever changed one of these or how hard you think it will be? im trying to avoid goin to the dealer to get it done they want over 200 to do it and then shed have to paint it. the peice is only 30 bucks.

It should be pretty easy to fix, you'll just need the spare part, obviously, then you'll need to pull the door panel off. Once you're in there, finding the couple of bolts that hold it in should be fairly easy. Disconnect the door lock mechanism and so on.
Yeah it should be easy, took my ex-girlfriends door apart in order to put her glass back in the regulator, very easy. Not sure about the handle though, hopefully it'll just be held on with bolts and not riveted on (dumbest idea GM ever had).

That's why I said it was the dumbest GM idea ever, they used to use metal rivets on plastic door handles. In order to get the handles off you had to drill the rivet out, which in turn would melt the handles...brilliant.
