welding cast alluminum
here's the problem, we forgot to take the slave cylinder off the transmission and while putting the motor back into the bay, hit and broke the slave cylinder along with part of the transmisson where the slave mounts to, everything was installed until we found out the slave cylinder just hanging there. i tried bj weld but the thing came off again after the first test drive. i do have a lincoln mig welder, i was wonder if it was possible to get the mounts welded and what type of setting? wire? also is there another route to get this thing back on? i'll try to post pix later. (runs fine, just can't shift gears. kinda have to force into gear.)
I don't think you're going to get it done with what you have. Best bet is to replace the bellhousing or take it to someone who does aluminum fabrication for a living.
i was told taking off the tranny and tappin and inserting bolts from other side of tranny to mount the slave would work, but the motor is already in, i'll try to see if i can custom fab a bracket from the tranny bolt.
