Default my cf trunk

i have a seibon cf trunk. it fits right and lines up good but one the weather is under 60 degreees it simply refuses to shut properly. i have to force it shut and play around with it. but when the weather is warm it takes no effort. WTF! has anyone else experienced a problem so bizzare with thiers?

im not completely sure how much CF contracts or expands. but it seems like its just ur CF contracting in the cold when its under 60 degrees which would make certain stuff not line up correctly. in hot or normal weather ur CF stays in its proper size/shape so u get no problems with fitment. i would call seibon and ask them what their "operating temperature" is for their CF and tell them about ur problem.

u might also be able to look for the problem urself. next time its cold out and u cant get ur trunk closed, try putting some sort of marker in ur trunk to see where u need clearance and if its in trivial area (i.e. an area that does involve the latch mechanism) u might be able shave down the trunk urself? im not really sure about what u can and cant do to ur CF without messing it up.

anyways good luck with ur problem

It's normal with all CF products. I have a Seibon Trunk too, perfect from factory for about two weeks and then it contracted.

What I do is find a sweet spot in the middle of the trunk when I close it, and WITHOUT slamming the trunk it will close right.

you guys are bunch of genius... i dont think it would go back to the original shape once it contracts...

i suggest grease up the latch...
