Default BEWARE NEX SUSPENSION BUYERS

my brother recently purchased a set of nex gt coilovers for his 07 civic sedan

we installed them along with a skunk2 rear camber kit

after maybe 3 thousand miles the drivers front strut snapped in half. the actual rod in the center of the strut snapped in half just under the gold top piece(see picture)

i dont have an actual picture right now of the broken strut but in the picture shown its one of the left side ones and it snapped just under the gold piece on the top

just giving you guys a heads up.

its a good thing this happened a block from home and not out on the freeway.

can you imagine if this had happened on the interstate 5 in california during rush hour? i can guarantee that people would be seriously injured and maybe even dead.

they've actually been around for quite a while. my friend had a h22 acura cl back in 2000 and he had one piece nex suspension and it worked awesome. i was told recently that they are made by the same manufacturer that makes "ADR" rims. i had to frown upon that.

I know one of the reasons Koni is not coming out with their struts at the moment is becase they are not satisfied with the stampings for the actual strut bodies. They want their assemblies to hold up to race and daily use so things don't snap and break.

Kind of makes you think twice when companies bring out coilovers before reputable companies like Koni, Tokico, and KYB do.

If its not Eibach, Tein, or Comptech... Its probably not worth it IMO. Progress and Neuspeed maybe okay, not much exp with those suspensions.

I love my eibach springs and will be pairing them up with Koni Yellows as soon as I find $625 laying around somewhere

Glad everybody who was involved with this incident is fine otherwise this company could have a major problem on their hands.
