i blew up my 3rd gear this weekend so I picked up an M2S4 tranny from a peelude Si. This means I need to swap out the f22b2 engine and trans. Can I pull both out at the same time or do I need to seperate the two? Hell, give me any tips or tricks you guys have, I will be following the helms but if there is an easier way, let me know. thanks maing(s).

Get a cherry picker to lift the car. I had to replace the tranny in a 90 EX which is a pain in the *** if any of you have had to do it. Unbolt the tranny from everything but the engine, loosen the engine mounts, remove the tranny bolts from the engine, and remove the axles. Lift the car up a few feet VERY slowly. set the tranny down carefully and then move the oher tranny to the same place and do everything in reverse, with the axle replacement last. Also, do not use the intermediate shaft from a Prelude or else you will find two males cannot connect. Other than that, an original Honda service manual helps, but everything is pretty easy.

Both the engine and transmission are being taken out for the h23a1 and m2s4. i felt a rephrase is necessary.

Same thing, just disconnect everything from the engine and tranny and remove the engine mounts. The cherry picker is a very, very imortant part of it all. Also, I have a factory Honda service manual that I borrowed from a friend which may help. I can email you with any help you may need, since the Honda manual has everything you will need. And then some.

Keep the engine and tranny together when you take them out of the car. If you separate them to put in a new clutch or something, put the tranny back on to the motor before you put it into your car. It's much easier to do it once.
i pulled mine out the top...its not that hard...
but like its been said, it is a bitch to change the tranny with the engine in the car...so pull the whole assembly, then install the whole new assembly

I used a cherry picker to pull my engine out of the top of the bay, make sure everything (and I do mean everything) is disconnected. I forgot the oxygen sensor line and tore it in half.

get a helms manual from http://www.helminc.com, they should have a phone #
Well with resources like H-T one doesn't really need a manual at all... the Helms is just something everyone should have. I keep it in the bathroom so I can read up on vacuum lines while dropping a deuce.

Good luck Brian.
