I'm in the market for a wideband, and just looking for some likes and dis likes.

AEM is SEXY as hell

 

i loved my AEM

 

my friend who has an AEM EUGO has been tuned at a few different places, and from what their widebands got, and what his got were 2 completely different things... often off by 1.5 points or so...

so I dunno..
Does anybody know aboutthe accuracy of either of them?

 

PLX is a way better wideband, can be set up to read narrow band to.....get the PLX

 

Ive had the AEM, PLXm300, and currently the Innovative XD16 wideband gauge.

The AEM is crappy quality all around with the only exception that it has the option of displaying lambda. The PLXm300 is great all around, reliable, except for it can be kind of awkward to mount, lambda display. The Innovative is high quality material and workmanship, reliable, lots of options and easily mountable, with the downside being its cost.

also, they all have narrow band output.

were the widebands placed in the same position when tuning was happening ? also where is the wideband placed on your friends car

 

placed before the cat.
I believe that one of them removed his wideband, and the other just used an exhaust probe.

His cat is a 3' high flow, so I dont know how bad that affected it. But both tuners said the AEM was off, and that it was almost worthless.

I am going on exactly what the tuners told him, what they said will definitely cause me not to ever buy an AEM eugo.. Ill go with something else and see how it works for me.

 

would you say the wideband is a min of 8in downstream from the turbo and a max of 14in. usually those are the optimal ranges any closer or further and you dont get that great of a reading. also it could just be the probe of the wideband is going out

yes, its definitely somewhere really, really close to that range.
the wideband is almost brand new, so i'm sure its not going out.

The tuner said that AEM 's wideband is generally off.

 

ok just havent heard of any problems with these yet thats all
to the OP: the innovate LC-1 or even the LM-1 are good products to use

 

if you know how to solder check out 14point7.com look under JAW (just another wideband) That is what I will be using as soon as it comes in.
