Default Gas Mileage for the last 15 fill-ups.

I've been tracking my Fit's mileage since I purchased it earlier this year. Most of the driving has been done around town with the A/C full blast and no concern(i.e. agressive when I feel like it) for gas mileage.

07 NPB Fit Sport Manual
Gal.---- Mileage- MPG
9.614-- 284.9--- 29.63
9.269-- 560.6--- 29.74
9.935-- 847.4--- 28.86
8.419-- 1104.9-- 30.58
9.314-- 1395.0-- 31.15
9.458-- 1685.1-- 30.67
9.710-- 1963.5-- 28.67
9.814-- 2231.5-- 27.31
9.652-- 2511.9-- 29.05
9.990-- 2811.2-- 29.96
9.746-- 3137.7-- 33.50
5.808-- 3330.9-- 33.26
9.698-- 3703.0-- 38.37 <-Highway
7.689-- 3973.0-- 35.12 <-Highway w/added cargo.
9.662-- 4254.0-- 29.08

Average: 31 MPG

Is the car stick shift or auto, Sport or Base trim?

Springfield, MA - Astoria, Queens, NY

used a/c half the way
drive around for parking
drive around Queens to Shea stadium
drive back to Springfield, MA used a/c half the way
drive back home to Granby, MA
drive to Ludlow, MA (visit parents)
drive back to Granby
drive to Westfiled (work)
drive back home to Granby, fill up in South Hadley

Was approaching 400 miles total for the tank, got 41 mpg. I usually get an average in mixed driving of 36-37mpg sometimes driving hard. TW Fit Sport Manual.

Yeah it's Manual, Sport trim. Should've added that in the original post.

Those are encouraging numbers. I've been considering purchasing a Fit.

The last 2 tanks my girlfriends has averaged 36 and then 38. This is with a car that just broke 700 miles too.

Does she drive conservatively?

The mileage seems to range anywhere from 28 - 42mpg from the posts I've read. I think the major factors are fuel quality, throttle, shift points, elevations, city/hwy driving, and air conditioning.

Does the air conditioning really kill the gas mileage on the fit or is a heavy foot worse?

I think a heavy foot is worse. I had the A/C blasting when I got 38mpg on the highway. Because the Fit lacks power from a stop, I have a tendancy to stomp the gas to get up to speed - That really kills the mpg.

There will be no stomping of the gas pedal for me, at least not in this car.
