I just bought a 93 prelude, and it was labeled as an Si, but now that i look at it, it has a f22b engine in it.. so i got home and looked up all the information on the two, and the trim levels of the car, and came up with some questions. If you guys can help clear things up for me that would be great.

what are the exact specs on the f22b engine? i looked it up and it says it still makes 160hp but doesnt kick out as much torque as the h23, is that correct?

should i be worried?

what can i do with it? are there any h22 head swaps out there? ill do some more searching but i was hoping ya could point me in the right direction..

is it a jdm motor?

PS. im guessing they swapped it in couz it has markings on it as if it was on the market, and there are no factory preludes with f22b's (or am i wrong?) so thats why im thinking theres a chance it could be a jdm motor?

that doesnt help me at all.. my motor is a DOHC engine.. i dno where it came from, they say theres a f22b in the preludes in japan, which is also DOHC, so im guessing its that one?

anybody got any info on that motor? possible head swaps? do h23 parts fit?

yeah its so annoying.. everywhere i search, i only come up with accord specs, and everyone i ask, just says its an accord engine, but do f series in accords even come in DOHC?

F22B JDM Prelude (DOHC NON-VTEC) (H23 with 85mm bore)

 

yeah, i've heard that it's a jdm engine, basically the same as the h23, except that it has cast sleeves instead of FRM. i'm sure you'll find info on it if you look.
