Default Ebay S2000 manifold, opinions?

I have been eyeing up a manifold on ebay for sometime now and am wondering if its a waste of time or worth the dime?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-S2...wItem

or....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

They all look the same to me and are probably based on a popular design, but of course I cant be sure.

Haven't heard of any of these guys, but at that price, you can afford to buy all of them and compare.

Don't just buy for gains, buy for quality. I've never heard of them, therefor I wouldn't use it since I don't trust their brand.

if your looking for a part to look cool and tell your buddy's you have headers by all means buy them.

if you are looking for proven power and quality take this into account. If the company manufacturing it has a racing background(years and wins) scca, lemans, nasa, gt, f1. they take what they have learned on the track and use this to build quality performing parts......its call R&D.....That where the money is spend to make a performing part.

a cheap header that has proven to make power rather then lose power would be the Megan header. Its not the best but you get some decent quality and a few ponies.

Ask a ricer and he will say HEADER.

Ask a muscle head and he will say MANIFOLD.

Either way, the book will technically say exhaust manifold and you're both right.

We're from the states and we say header, his sig says UK and am sure that's what they prolly call them.

Well technically a manifold is cast and a header is tubular. But either way people know what you mean. Just buy a bunch of them and use the flanges to make your own headers and test those on the dyno.

Not arguing, just clarifying:

OEM S2000 Header, not 100% "cast" but Honda calls it Exh. Manifold.

"Concept of Development for Mugen S2000 Parts...Exhaust Manifold Kit..." - King Motorsports

It's just an engineer's jargon.

Dropping it because it's pointless, neither is technically wrong.

And if a company buys said parts and sends them to China to be knocked off then you may not have the same quality but in many instances you will get the same performance gains..... depends on how good the knock off is

man just take the time it took you to save the 230 or so odd dollars and multiply that time by 5. Then you could actually buy a good header.

knock off with some performance gain yes... but have you ever even seen a quality manifold. the collector, primaries, and runners have no welding slag. perfect port matching. plus the slightest variation in piping size, length, and angle will effect power. Not necessarily top end but even bottom or mid.

The next nasty true is.....People buying knock off are causing the price of all true quality part to increase in price more. Slowly but over time companies will not be able to produce good parts because every time they do its knocked off. So think about if these Knock off companies have nothing to knock off, you think they will start R&D awesome parts on there own???

WE ALL BOUGHT A $30,000 (NEW) dollar sports car and your going to cheap out on the goods.

Indeed you are correct, I hear them called headers all the time on US forums but in the UK its a manifold thing. Like hood and bonnet

I guess thats what im asking, is it a good knock off? The other way I wanna look at it is if I can get a possible gain and some bling for that kinda money then Im not going to question it as long as the fitment isnt poor like OBX products. They all use T304 stainless steel, they all at TIG welded. If anyones proven this on the dyno it would be good to know the outcome. Im not trying to cheap out as this is a beautiful car but Im not going to fall into the trap of paying more for something when the same product is available elsewhere but you can look at both sides of the fence all day long

The other reason is im outta work at the mo so I just have alot of time on my hands to explore options. Ive never been a brand type of guy, im happy drinking copycat cola all day long I just know I wont feel like that cool dude off the advert function over fashion I say
