Default Rich or Lean?

Do stock ITRs run rich or lean during VTEC? Generally do mods like Intake and header cause the car to run richer or leaner?

Rich.

Usually leaning out the mixture yields power gains, but as you know adjustments are best made on the dyno.

Go figure...I leaned out the topend and I wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do.

Running the car rich a lot can also kill the cat too right?

At VTEC it is lean, you want to add fuel.

Its rich at approx. 7500 up.

You buy an adjustable fpr for a reason. (and its not for leaning)

With leaning out you mean making Lambda=1, right? But not making it leaner than Lambda=1? I assume Lambda=1 is the ideal situation.

JDM 4-1 leaned me out between 6000 and 6500 rpm and ran rich after that.

Put it this way, Your adding more air with intake/header with no fuel increase. Are you going to run richer or leaner?

I/H/E make it leaner then. Which is a good thing somewhat...But where does it run leaner?

After the DC 4-2-1 and 2.5' straight pipe, the spark plug appear lean!! The air/fuel was just right b4.

running lightly lean would make u slightly quicker though.. proyll not as good for your engine... but I think theres a poitn if ur lean enuf where theres jsut not enuf fuel and u'll lose power
