Loud Screeching Noise when starting Car?
Sorry guys Im a Newb but I learn fast, Just never had a car until about a month ago.
Never had one to deal with ya know, finally bought one Independently. Saved up the money. 1990 Accord Lx.
I bought a problem, but I know you can work Magic with Hondas. Well what Im trying to figure out is How come when I start the car it screeches for about 30 seconds. Since I bought it every day it screeches longer and longer when I start it up. At first it was only like 3 seconds. When I step on the gas it stops screeching faster. When I have driven it, turn off, then start again. If not too long since last time running, it screeches for about 5 seconds and when I step on gas it stops. I know your thinking the belts but when I look at the belts they have no visible cracks? or obvious ware inside or out. When I spray belt dressing on them, it sounds a little better, and stops faster. Do you think they are loose?

It is most likely the belts still. You can also get this of any of the accessory bearings are going out - like AC Clutch, PS Pump or Alternator.
Does this happen even when the AC is off? If so, then I would look elsewhere than the AC/Alternator belt.
