Default 2002 civic lx SRS Light

Hi All,
My wife's car had the SRS light go on. Nothing has been played around with inside connectors and whatnot. i would like to reset it myself. Most of the pages with instructions seem to indicate that these instructions are for 2001 and earlier models. Any idea if they would work, and if not what the best way to reset the light is?

I have a scangauge 2 so I can reset OBD2 codes, but i havent plugged it in to see if it triggered a code, I dont think it did as I checked it with a more basic obd code reader. I havent had a chance to check with the scangauge 2 yet.

The best directions I have found are here: http://www.geocities.com/myint...s.pdf

I would like to fx it, but mnore importantly I dont want to cook her ECU

Thanks

Rick

That way works, I've done it twice myself.

Just take it to the dealer and see if you have a defective seatbelt latch. They'll replace it for free.

Thanks for the input. I will try the reset this weekend. If that does not work i will take it to the dealer and see what happens. I did check the seatbelts (as best i could) by driving the car into a wall with people in it... or by giving them a tug and the seatbelts sould lock and the seatbelt latches hold tight. So I am not sorried from that point of view, but it sure could be a bad sensor there.

thanks once again. I will post with my results.

take it to the dealer. more than likley it's a seat belt buckle and they have a lifetime warrenty on them so it won't cost you anything to fix.

yep, it works on the 2002 honda civic lx. The plug is above the fuses, but in the same grey box area. The plug is the only yellow, 2 wire plug there. The wires are black and green (at least for me they are). when unplugged it can be seen that it is "plugged" into a dummy port, there are no pins in it.

done and done, thanks for the help, hope the above wire colors help otehrs feel more confident that they are using the right plug for it.
