Default Your choice H22 vs B18c???

Target : Both boosted H22 and a B18c to build w/ the same budget in an EK, what would it be.
Lets say 5K total spendings starting with the car, engine, tranny already running NA.

Stuff you already got: hasport mounts, FR traction bars, Aeromotive FP, -FPR, 650 HP FMIC, engine management, lenso w/ racemasters24.5, GT35R, 50 mm BOV, 46mm WG.

set ups were obviously totally differnt. im not at all trying to say that the B made 300 horsepower more, just stating that they were both pretty heavily modified.

Nice thing about the B is you can just throw pistons and rods in it later down the road, you will have to sleeve the H.

If your making more power/tq with the B than you are with the H, with the same set up...... Theres something wrong.

Our of the box, the H head flows what most B heads flow after head work. Custom and even shelf cam options are becoming more and more available, IM options for FI are there, The H is obviously bigger (bore/stroke).

If built properly and the same attention given to both, I dont see it.

H/F2B you can buy an f22 block for under $100. slap some rods, pistons, h22 head, turbo and you are good for a while. You can use the h22 crank/rods if you like.

since 1994 when the hydro style came out...stock trannys hold 500whp all day to and from the track trust me i know...the problem becomes when you make more then 750-800

I had several H series cars and Its not my thing...shifting issues...tranny grinds

Also there seems to be less of a traction problem with B series motors

The fund you have left after the engine basis mods, Think the traction issue can be solved.
