Hey,

I've got a '99 Honda Civic EX at 135k that's in need of a new transmission, the current one is slowly showing signs of decline (doesn't always shift 1st to 2nd gear smoothly or 2nd to 3rd, seems to be more prone with shifting, although changing the ATF more frequently seems to help, but not remedy the problem). Had it diagnosed by two mechanics who both say it's transmission-related.

I'm out here in the Bay Area, and I was wondering if anyone could reccomend good shops for purchese of either a rebuilt or low mileage automatic transmission. I'd also consider North Bay if anyone knows. I'm going to get my friend to help me swap it, he has experience doing this sort of thing.

Help/tips/pointers appreciated.
